Yi-Cheng Lin

Yi-Cheng Lin (ªL©É¦¨) was born in Kaohsiung, Taiwan in 1965. He received the B.S. degree in nuclear engineering from National Tsing Hua University, Hsing-Chu, Taiwan, in 1987, the M.S. degree in electrical engineering from National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan, in 1989, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from The University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA, in 1997.

During his graduate study, Dr. Lin was engaged in the research on numerical analysis of multi-conductor transmission system, electromagnetic modeling of coherent scattering and propagation for remote sensing application, and near-field techniques in antenna measurements. From 1997 to 2003, he was a staff engineer at Qualcomm, San Diego, CA, and was responsible for the antenna design and development for satellite and terrestrial wireless communication systems. His work at Qualcomm covered miniaturized antennas, broadband/multi-band antennas, active antenna modules, and antenna diversity for RF channel optimization. He joined the faculty of the Department of Electrical Engineering and the Graduate Institute of Communications Engineering as an assistant professor in February 2003. His current research interests include antenna miniaturization, ultra wide band antennas, and diversity antennas for MIMO systems.
