賴怡吉 Alexander (Alex) I-Chi Lai
Dr. Alexander (Alex) I-Chi Lai is currently an Adjunct Professor with the Department of Electrical Engineering, and Graduate Institute of Communication Engineering, at National Taiwan University (NTUEE / GICE), teaching Internet of Things (IoT) classes and bringing back to the academia his broad industrial experiences including Smart Manufacturing, Smart Cities, Cloud Computing, IoT and Cybersecurity. His experience in the ICT sector can be tracked back to the last years of the previous millennium while he was renewing the IT infrastructure of NTUEE and finalizing his Ph.D. dissertation in large-scale distributed computing systems. After earning his Ph.D. Alex served in various senior leadership positions in the ICT industry, including the very first Chief Information Officer (CIO) at NEXCOM International Co., Ltd., the Chief Cloud Architect / Senior Director at Wiwynn Corporation (a Wistron company making high-end servers for hyper-scale datacenters of Microsoft, Amazon, and Facebook), Director of International Business Projects at ITRI, Divisional Director of Enterprise Product Line Projects at Acer Inc., and R&D Director at AscenVision Technology Inc. (now part of Fortinet), to name a few. He was the President of An-Hui Information Technology Co. Ltd., a TECO group company providing IT service to the food and beverage sector, in 2021-2022. Meanwhile, he has been providing consulting services to several law and investor firms as well as NGOs. He is also an active innovator with 40 international patents of invention awarded. Alex earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan, R.O.C., and M.B.A. from University of Southern California, Los Angeles, CA, USA.
