Development Goals

Teaching aspect: In accordance with the technology changes in the electrical engineering , computer science fields, adjust the core courses and increase the chances of practice and experiments. The courses must meet the standard of the trends and international standards for the students. The courses also need to be in corresponding to the needs of the industries. Hope the students will be able to use what they have learned in school. Also, increase, and speed up the chances for graduates to devote themselves in the job market.

Academic research aspect: On top of the basis of current research results, emphasize on integrating different academic fields to promote the entire ability to compete. The concrete actions on point development to stand out in the field are, (1) improve and implement the department evaluation and reviewing teachers’ qualities (2) integrate researches and point development and pursue outstanding achievement (3) build systems to trigger theaters’ potential to research and to gather talented people (4) renew the basic research equipment and educate talented people.

Development characteristics

The undergraduate department should focus on education and researches. In educating the undergraduate students, it will emphasize on strengthen students’ professional acquirement and their abilities to process experiments. In designing courses, it should emphasize on widen the electrical engineering field. Therefore, there will be no groups separated in the undergraduate department. The main courses for the students in the Departments of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science will be the related courses that cover the main research field as a main principle.

‧The main purpose of graduate school is to acquaint the students with professional knowledge and train their independent research capability . In addition to the M.S. and Ph.D. programs in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering, in order to incubate more higher level human resources in electrical engineering and information related fields , we currently have Graduate Institute of Electro-Optical Engineering ,Graduate Institute of Communication Engineering, Graduate Institute of Electronics Engineering , Graduate Institute of Network and Multimedia ,to promote academic researches and human resources incubation in electro-optics , communication and electronics related field , in the future , to meet the needs of high tech academic researches and human resources in fields such as network and multimedia ,bioinformatics , biomedical engineering , computer , knowledge engineering ,and large complicated system,etc. , the followings are going to be set up one after another , for example, Graduate Institute of Networking and Multimedia , Graduate Institute of Bioinformatics , Graduate Institute of Computer Engineering, Graduate Institute of Biomedical Engineering , Graduate Institute of Computer Science , Graduate Institute of Knowledge Engineering , Graduate Institute of Large Complicated System, etc.

‧After the consecutive founding of Graduate Institute in every professional field ,in the future ,Department of Electrical Engineering and Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering will be mainly in charge of teaching courses for undergraduate students, and each Graduate Institute will be in charge of creating new research directions in their respective expertise field , to enhance academic visibility , to enhance the cooperation between academy and industry and promote the development of domestic high tech sector .
