1. Application-oriented antenna design
-Develop antenna structures for the emerging wireless applications, such as the RFID systems, the wireless sensor networks, the UWB radio systems, the broadband wireless access (BWA), etc.
2. Dielectric lens antenna
-Develop an effective method to facilitate the design of the dielectric lens surface and the analysis of the corresponding radiation characteristics.
-Design the feeding antenna to substantially improve the performances of the dielectric lens antenna.
3. Silicon-based multi-layered antennas
-Overcome the higher loss of the silicon substrate to improve the radiation efficiency.
-Miniaturize the antenna area and achieve the ultimate goal of the system-on-chip (SOC) for RF and microwave communication applications by means of the precise multi-layered fabrication process.
4. Metamaterial-inspired antennas and passive devices
-Antenna design using double-negative (DNG) and/or single-negative (SNG) metamaterials and composite right/left-handed (CRLH) transmission lines.
