NTUEE has been the first choice of students in Taiwan in the category of natural sciences and engineering since 1970. Together with these high-quality students, the faculty members are actively engaged in state-of-the-art researches. More than 100 IEEE journal papers are published each year by the faculty members. Some research areas are actively performed here with world leading achievements. With its fruitful research outcomes and its international reputation, together with decades of teaching experience and contributions, has made NTUEE one of the most competitive EECS departments all over the world.
The Department of Electrical Engineering covers 10 fields of expertise, including Automatic Control, Power System, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Electro-Optics, Electromagnetic Waves, Communications and Signal Processing, Integrated Circuits and Systems, Nano-Electronics, and Electronic Design Automation. Graduates from the Department can apply for Graduate Institute of Electrical Engineering, Graduate Institute of Electronics Engineering, Graduate Institute of Communication Engineering, Graduate Institute of Electro-Optical Engineering, or Graduate Institute of Biomedical Electronics and Bioinformatics.

Application procedure: Applications for degree students should be submitted to the Office of International Affairs within deadline.
Application Materials:
- On-line application form at www.oia.ntu.edu.tw (International Students → Degree Student Admission → Application Procedure)
- Two photocopies of the original diploma
- Two translations of the original diploma (if applicable)
- Two original transcripts issued by the institution
- Two translations of the original transcripts (if applicable)
- One study plan in English or in Chinese
- Two letters of recommendation
- Financial statement
- TOEFL score or equivalent
- SAT score or other supporting documents
2. Exchange Students
Deadlines: Application should be postmarked no later than the deadlines of March 15 for First Semester (September) entry and October 15 for Second Semester (February) entry. Application not nominated by home universities will not be accepted. Application procedure: Students should apply online at www.oia.ntu.edu.tw. (International Students → Incoming Exchange Programs → Application) |
Note: Only students who are currently registered at a university with which we have an agreement and nominated by their home university may apply for an exchange. |
3. Visiting Students
International students who wish to do a short-term non-degree internship at NTUEE can apply as Visiting Student. Prior to the application, the student should find one professor from NTUEE to be his/her advisor. Students may contact our faculty members according to their research areas by visiting our website: www.ee.ntu.edu.tw.

Application procedure: Upon the approval of our faculty for a research project, the student should contact the Department with the following application materials.
Application materials:
- Invitation letter from NTUEE faculty
- One Study Plan in English or in Chinese
- One CV in English or in Chinese
- One photocopy of transcript
- Financial Statement
