研究領域摘要:

本實驗室主要研究領域為與通信基頻(baseband)相關的演算法與積體電路設計。研究中需使利用數位通信理論、訊號處理、數位積體電路設計等技術,並使用C++MAXPLUS IIVerilog等語言進行FPGAASIC之設計。

    以往研究成果包括:

* 第三代行動通訊中(3GPP W-CDMA)具波束形成能力基地台基頻積體電路

* 脈衝式超寬頻基頻處理積體電路

* IEEE 802.16-2004 OFDM模式基頻訊號處理

* DVB-T/DVB-H 基頻處理積體電路設計

* IEEE 802.11n無線區域網路基頻處理積體電路設計

* 認知無線電(Cognitive Radio)  OFDMwavelet 基頻訊號處理

    目前進行中的研究包括:

* 高速 60-GHz 無線區域網路用MIMO OFDM 基頻處理積體電路設計

* OFDM通信收發機快速雛型與即時通道模擬平台之建置

* IEEE 802.16e-2005 OFDMA基頻訊號處理

* 軟體GPS接收機

   本實驗室未來將以現有研究成果為基礎,繼續有關無線通信與寬頻通信基頻處理演算法及電路架構設計製作的研究,此外亦將進入生醫應用領域研究相關的訊號處理演算法與積體電路設計。

Research Summary:

Prof. Chiueh’s group, the Microsystem Research Laboratory (MSRL), focuses on signal processing algorithm and implementation related to communication baseband systems. This topic require knowledge in digital communication, signal processing, and IC design. Languages and tools such as C++, Quartus II, and Verilog are used to design FPGA and ASIC.

       Our previous results include

* Digital signal processor for SDR

* 3GPP W-CDMA beam-forming baseband IC for base-station

* IEEE 802.11a WLAN OFDM baseband IC and its space-diversity receiver

* MC-CDMA baseband IC for next-generation cellular communication

* Impulse radio ultra wideband (UWB) baseband IC

* DVB-T/DVB-H baseband IC design

* IEEE 802.16-2004 OFDM mode baseband processing

* IEEE 802.11n WLAN baseband IC design

* Baseband processing for cognitive radio using OFDMand wavelet

       Ongoing research topics include

* High-speed MIMO OFDM baseband IC design for 60-GHz WLAN

* Platform for OFDM communication transceiver fast prototyping and real-time channel emulation

* IEEE 802.16e-2005 OFDMA mode baseband processing

* Software GPS receiver

       In the future, MSRL will continue to work on baseband signal processing of wireless and broadband communication systems. New applications of signal processing hardware to bio-medical related devices and instruments are now being planned.
