研究領域摘要:

蔡志宏教授最近之研究領域包括寬頻網際網路與無線區域網路的流量管理與品質監控，網路效能模型之建立與行列分析，封包之分類/整流/排程，服務品質網路之管理，以及多媒體整合服務之提供技術。相關協定如TCP/MPLS/GMPLS及WLAN/cellular雙網等的模型建立與效率改良也是其研究一部分。

蔡志宏教授也對創新網路服務測試環境之建立有高度興趣，也曾領導多個寬頻網路測試計畫。例如最近領導建置一個WLAN網路電視廣播環境之建置計畫。利用802.11a/b/g WLAN，各種PDA、Tablet PC，可當作無線網路電視觀賞多個電視頻道的播出。如何整合行動與WLAN多媒體服務，則是其下一個重要的研究議題。

Research Summary:

Recent research areas of Prof. Zsehong Tsai include traffic engineering and quality monitoring of broadband Internet and Wireless LAN, network modeling and queueing analysis, design of packet classification/shapers/schedulers, QoS network management, and provisioning of integrated multimedia services. Modeling and further improvement of related network protocols such as TCP/MPLS/GMPLS and WLAN/Cellular dual network are also included in his research.

Prof. Zsehong Tsai also has interests in the development of testing environment of novel network services and has lead several broadband network trial projects. For example, he has recently deployed an WLAN Network TV broadcasting environment, in which various types of real-time encoded TV channels can be broadcasted over 802.11a/b/g WLAN and PDA/Tablet PC can then be used as wireless Network TV devices. In the near future, integration of mobile and WLAN multimedia services will be his next focus of research.
