吳忠幟 Chung- Chih Wu
Dr. Chung-chih Wu (吳忠幟) received his B.S. degree in electrical engineering from National Taiwan University in 1990, and the M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from Princeton University in 1994 and 1997, respectively.
From 1990 to 1992, he was an ensign instructor at R.O.C. Naval Communication and Electronics School, Kaohsiung, Taiwan. From 1997 to 1998, he was with the Electronic Research and Service Organization in the Industry Technology Research Institute (ERSO/ITRI), Hsin-Chu, Taiwan, as a researcher in the division of flat panel display. In 1998, he joined the faculty of National Taiwan University in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Graduate Institute of Photonics and Optoelectronics, and Graduate Institute Electronics Engineering, where he is currently Distinguished Professor (特聘教授) of NTU. Her served as the NTUEE department associate chairman in 2007-2010 and the department chairman in 2019-2022. He currently serves as the Vice President for Office of Research and Development of NTU. His current research interests include display technologies, optoelectronics, optics, organic semiconductors and devices, transparent oxide conductors and semiconductors, and nano science and technologies. He ever served as committee for numerous conferences of SID/IEEE/MRS/SPIE/OSA, including symposium organizers for MRS and IEEE Photonics Society/EDS, general program chair for International Display Manufacturing Conference (IDMC) of SID, co-founder & co-chairs of Asian Conference of Organic Electronics (ACOE) etc.
Dr. Wu is the reciepient of 2003 Dr. Wu Da-You Research Award, National Science Council (2003 國科會吳大猷先生紀念獎), 2003 Outstanding Paper Award, Far Eastern Y.Z. Hsu Science and Technology Memorial Foundation (2003有庠科技論文獎), 2003 Outstanding Young Electrical Engineer Award of Chinese Institute of Electrical Engineering (2003中國電機工程師學會,優秀青年電機工程師), 2004 Academia Sinica Research Award for Junior Scholars (2004中研院年輕學者研究著作獎), Outstanding Innovation Award, Industrial Technology Research Institute (2004 工研院傑出創新獎), 2006, 2009 and 2012 Distinguished Research Award, National Science Council (95、98、101年度國科會傑出研究獎), 2011 Distinguished Electrical Engineering Professor, Chinese Institute of Electrical Engineering (2011中國電機工程學會傑出電機工程教授), 2011 Thomson Reuters Research Front Award (2011湯森路透卓越科學研究獎), Micron Technology Chair Professor in 2018-2020 (美光科技講座教授), TPS Photonics Medal of Taiwan Photonics Society in 2021 (中華民國光電工程學會光電工程獎), Distinguished Research Fellow of NSTC in 2021 (國科會傑出特約研究員). Dr. Wu was elected as Fellow of the Society of Information Display (SID) in 2016.
