Master&PhD Program Requirement |
1) The guidelines hereto are set forth according to National Taiwan University’s Academic Policies, National Taiwan University Guidelines for Ph.D. and Master Degree Examination, and National Taiwan University Guidelines for the Implementation of Ph.D. Candidate Qualifying Examination. 2) Course Credits: 2.1 Required Courses: Thesis (Required by the last semester)
2.2 Master Program Requirements: 24 credits required (excluding Seminar, Special Project, Speech, Thesis, Foreign Language and undergraduate courses), among which 12 credits should be of major field courses. Major field courses may be defined by advisor. 2.3 Ph.D. Program Requirements: 18 credits required (excluding Seminar, Special Project, Speech, Thesis and undergraduate courses), among which 9 credits should be of NTUEE courses. NTUEE courses may be defined by advisor. 2.4 Bachelor students directly admitted for Ph.D. degree should take the total amount of required credits of both Master Program and Ph.D. Program. 2.5 For research necessity, graduate students who need to travel abroad for more than one month, after the approval of advisor and department chair, may be exempted of Seminar and Special Project of the semester where the absence occurs. 3) Ph.D. Candidate Qualifying Examination Each Ph.D. student should go through the Ph.D. Candidate Qualifying Examination. Refer to Guidelines for the Implementation of Ph.D. Candidate Qualifying Examination by Department of Electrical Engineering for detailed regulations. 4) Degree Examination (Oral Defense) 4.1 Master Program: Degree examination will be held under the regulation of National Taiwan University Guidelines for Ph.D. and Master Degree Examination. 4.2 Ph.D. Program:
5) Requirements for In-Service Graduate Students 5.1 In-Service graduate students should study one more year than the required minimum study years. 5.2 Prior to enrollment, In-Service graduate student should submit his/her employer’s permission letter to the Department. Students who do not reveal their employment status will be reported to the University. 6) Other requirements not listed hereto should be regulated by the National Taiwan University. 7) The guidelines hereto enter into force once approved and announced by the Faculty Council of Master and Ph.D. Program of Department of Electrical Engineering. |
