廖婉君教授的研究興趣主要是設計與分析通訊網路協定以支援多媒體應用，她目前是IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing編輯，曾擔任 IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications 及 IEEE Transactions on Multimedia 的編輯，及 IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing Steering Committee。進行中的研究包括：
(1) 無線網路: 5G/6G networks, 邊緣運算, AI for networking
(2) 多媒體網路: metaverse communications and computing, 360-degree video and audio streaming
(3) Web 3.0: 區塊鏈 (隱私權保護、跨鏈技術、身分識別管理, Blockchain for AI)
(4) IoT: AIoT, Industrial IoT, digital twins, 及數據分析
Research Summary:
Professor Wanjiun Liao's research interests focus mainly on the design and analysis of network protocols to support wireless multimedia, cloud-edge collaborative learning, and green communications. She was an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Multimedia and IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications. she was on the Steering Committee of IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing. On-going research includes:
(1) Key technologies for 5G/6G wireless networks, edge computing, AI for networking, and joint sensing and communications.
(2) Multimeida networking: metaverse communications and networking, 6G XR streaming
(3) Blockchain technologies: web 3.0, privacy-preserving, identity management, and blockchain for AI
(4) AIoT: digital twins, data science and engineering
